MARK S. SWEET
Attorney Sweet is a practicing attorney and resident of Watertown, Wisconsin. He joined the firm in 1991. He is a partner in the firm. He is a California native and is licensed to practice law in all courts in Wisconsin and California. He is a member of both the California Bar Association and Wisconsin Bar Association, a sustaining member of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers, and holds membership in the American Trial Lawyers Association and American Bar Association, Dodge County and Jefferson County Bar Associations. He was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers.
He is a 1975 graduate of the California State University Long Beach and a 1978 graduate of the Western State University Law School. He holds a BA in Political Science / Public Administration. He was admitted to practice in California in 1979 and Wisconsin in 1989.
He and his wife Lisa have raised four children. He has volunteered to serve the Watertown community by serving 8 years as a member of the Watertown Area Health Services Board of Directors, three as Chairman; 8 years on the Watertown PHO; Commission Member and Chair of the Watertown Police and Fire Commission. He supports and enjoys Watertown area soccer and American Legion Baseball.
He has trial experience as an insurance defense lawyer for companies including Safeco, Farmers Insurance and Fremont Indemnity. Since joining the firm in 1991 he has primarily represented members of the surrounding community who have been injured against insurance companies. The majority of his practice involves his representation of people in the surrounding Watertown community who have been injured in accidents. He has represented seriously injured clients in both Wisconsin and California. He has significant experience representing individuals and their families who have suffered serious injuries such as spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple bone fractures, facial injury, burns, and wrongful death. He has represented injured persons involving all types of accidents including auto, motorcycle, truck, bicycle, pedestrian, boating, work, home and farm accidents. He has successfully handled claims regarding defective products such as swimming pools and hot tubs, gas water heaters, household products and tools, deer stands, children’s toys, and sporting equipment.
